Sydney Park & 150 Lashes

Feeling a bit worn out from my first big week back in proper training and Thursday’s hill session has left some residual soreness. I could easily have taken a rest day but I felt turning the legs over would help. The procrastinatingbaker was doing her long run in the morning so I headed out late afternoon for a slow plod around Sydney Park. A hot and humid 10.2km in about 50mins.

Headed straight out afterwards to Ruby L’Otel with the Mother’s Group families. Absolute carnage in that place with all the kids but managed to sneak in a few schooners of 150 lashes Pale Ale which was very refreshing. They do a pretty good cheeseburger too.

I think this morning was the first Parkrun event in Sydney Park. Couldn’t make it today but I’m interested to see how that goes. It might be a handy regular time trial for me if it gains critical mass. Must be a pretty slow course with all the twists, turns and hills so probably not the place to try to set PBs.

Right, off to bed. Need to get some sleep – got exciting plans for the long run tomorrow!
