Mad dogs and Englishmen (and HuRTS)

Monday: Cruisey jog home from work. 13.2km.

Tuesday: Planned to do a short version of the HuRTS session today (4x 10mins), pulling out as soon as I felt done because I’ve still got a bit of post-race fatigue from Sunday. I was sweating like a pig by the time I reached the Opera House gates. I don’t know what the humidity was but it was a bad day to be out running at lunchtime. Mistake #1 was forgetting suncream. Mistake #2 was thinking we were doing 5 minute reps instead of 10 minute reps, so when everyone kept going I had to just knuckle down. Reached the stone pillars on Art Gallery Rd. in 10:01, but it got ugly pretty quickly on the second rep so I pulled the pin halfway around Farm Cove and called it quits. I don’t think there was anything to be gained by punishing myself out there today in that heat and I’m obviously still recovering from Sunday’s race. 14.4km total for the day.

Out for beers tonight with an old friend I haven’t seen for 20 years. Might have a sore head tomorrow.
