Middle Harbour (no) Picnic

Good crowd for the Middle Harbour Picnic star 6:30am group today, with many HuRTS regulars fronting up. Solid pace throughout working hard on the hills, of which there were a few. 29.5km in 4:24/km avg. Yesterday’s session started to catch up with me over the last few kms but I managed to hang on to the back of the group. Tom left us behind on every downhill. Someone described his style (accurately) as like “riding a bike with invisible handlebars”. I reckon this could be his secret weapon at the net downhill Six Foot Track.

Spent the afternoon in the wave pool at Ryde Aquatic Centre with R. Which would have been great, but the water was bloody freezing and I’m still a bit traumatised by a “code brown” incident he caused a couple of years ago.
