Saturday Tempo

I wrote off most of this week with gastro. Hardly ate a thing and consequently lost 2 or 3 kilos leaving me feeling a bit weak and wobbly.

First run back was a painfully slow 11k on Friday night which I struggled to finish. Following that I had low expectations of completing the planned 6km tempo with Gary Sat morning, but I got up anyway and jogged the 6k to Iron Cove Bridge. First km (downhill) was 3:17, then settled into the planned 3:25s finishing in 20:36. It wasn’t great, but compared to last night was a big improvement. Hopefully I’m over the virus and will have decent long run tomorrow. I’m running out of time to catch up…
